I became a nephrologist because the kidney is a fascinating organ that plays a critical function in maintaining homeostasis for the body. It is composed of filtering units that keep the important nutrients inside our body and excrete the excess. My particular clinical interests are to treat patients with diseases that affect these filtering units called the glomeruli. These include diseases such as lupus nephritis, vasculitis, membranous nephropathy and IgA nephropathy that are often challenging to treat. I would like to establish a trusting relationship with my patients to work together to prevent worsening of their kidney diseases and hopefully reverse their conditions.
