About Jeffrey Lin, MD
Jeffrey Lin, MD, is an anesthesiologist and pain medicine specialist at Keck Medicine of USC. In his role as a pain management specialist, Dr. Lin helps patients get back to their normal activities and provides care options to reduce their physical pain. In conjunction with a multidisciplinary team, he focuses on developing treatment plans that are customized to each patient’s needs and values — utilizing non-opioid medications, injections and advanced interventional techniques to relieve chronic pain. He joined Keck Medicine in 2023 and also serves as a clinical assistant professor of anesthesiology at the Keck School of Medicine of USC.

In addition to his clinical responsibilities, Dr. Lin is active in research efforts and his work has been widely published in peer-reviewed journals. His research interests are focused on how the body’s natural immune response is connected to pain transmission, especially in cancer patients. He is exploring different methods to treat pain caused by cancer or from cancer-related treatments, such as radiation and chemotherapy. Dr. Lin is also interested in innovative neuromodulation techniques, such as spinal cord stimulation.

He is a member of numerous professional organizations, including the American Society of Pain & Neuroscience, the Spine Intervention Society and the American Association for Cancer Research.

Dr. Lin grew up in Arcadia and loves cheering on local Los Angeles sports teams during his free time. He also enjoys spending time outdoors and playing tennis and basketball.
“I believe treatment for pain conditions should be tailored to the individual patient, which often involves addressing pain's physical, cognitive and emotional aspects.

“The most important aspect of my relationship with my patients is open communication and education. I believe in engaging with each patient to identify and diagnose their condition and then map out a treatment plan with the patient as an active participant.”
