Joshua Philip Schiff, MD

Joshua Schiff, MD, is a radiation oncologist with Keck Medicine of USC who believes in a patient-centered approach to care, with an emphasis on identifying the treatment modality that makes the most sense for each individual case. Dr. Schiff aims to connect with each of his patients and emphasizes open communication and empathy in every visit. 

His research interests center on how best to use technological advancements to support patient care, especially within clinical trials. Dr. Schiff’s experience has included developing and testing advanced image-guided radiotherapy machines designed to benefit patients with lung and gastrointestinal malignancies. He is currently focused on developing clinical trials to examine how a machine capable of biology-guided radiotherapy could be used to enhance care. Dr. Schiff’s research has been widely published in peer-reviewed journals, and he has presented his work at national and international conferences.

In addition to his clinical and scholarly work, Dr. Schiff is an assistant professor in the Department of Radiation Oncology at the Keck School of Medicine of USC. 

As a Los Angeles native, Dr. Schiff is thrilled to be back in his hometown caring for the area’s diverse communities. In his free time, he enjoys outdoor activities with his fiancé, such as hiking and walking their dog. Dr. Schiff is a big fan of football and great food and enjoys world traveling. His favorite places he’s traveled to include New Zealand, Japan and Tanzania.
