Maxwell Johnson, MD, is a plastic and reconstructive surgeon with fellowship training in surgical critical care and burn treatment. He has extensive expertise in complex wound treatment, limb salvage, and abdominal wall and breast reconstruction.
Dr. Johnson values building relationships with each patient and getting to know them holistically. By learning about their interests, motivators and lifestyles, he’s able to customize a treatment plan that works best for them.
His patients inspire him to pursue innovative research with the goal of enhancing outcomes. Dr. Johnson’s work centers on improved wound healing and reduced scarring. He is also focused on expanding access to high-quality burn and reconstructive care in underserved communities. He has authored multiple articles published in peer-reviewed journals.
Dr. Johnson’s role includes helping to educate the next generation of physicians. He is an assistant professor of clinical surgery at the Keck School of Medicine of USC.
Outside of work, Dr. Johnson loves spending time in his kitchen. He enjoys blacksmithing kitchen knives and baking pizzas in his wood-fired oven.
