About Parveen K. Garg, MD
Parveen K. Garg, MD, MPH, specializes in cardiovascular disease (CVD), preventive cardiology, vascular medicine, lipid disorders and advanced cardiovascular imaging. He is board certified in both cardiovascular disease and internal medicine.
Dr. Garg’s research focuses on better identifying people who are at risk for cardiovascular disease. He is doing this by exploring cardiovascular disease markers found in the blood, cardiovascular imaging techniques to test for heart disease and quality improvement efforts to identify gaps in patient care.
He has published research on everything from how neighborhood physical activity opportunities can influence the risk for cardiovascular disease to risk factors for atrial fibrillation in older adults and diverse ethnicities.
Away from work, Dr. Garg enjoys spending time with his family. He grew up in the Chicago suburbs and still follows Chicago professional sports.
