Shawn Gogia, MD, is a cardiologist at Keck Medicine of USC, who specializes in coronary and structural interventions. He offers expert cardiology care and treatment options, including placement of stents, heart valve replacement surgery and minimally invasive techniques that prevent the need for open-heart surgery.
Dr. Gogia completed three related fellowships — in cardiovascular disease, interventional cardiology and structural heart disease. He is triple board certified in cardiology and internal medicine and holds a specialty certification in adult echocardiography (cardiac ultrasound).
His recent research interests focus on the evaluation and treatment of aortic insufficiency, a heart valve condition where blood leaks through the aortic valve back into the heart.
Dr. Gogia was born and raised in Northern California. He spent several years on the East Coast for medical training and is happy to be back in his home state.
