Esophageal Surgery

Our Program

The internationally recognized esophageal surgeons at Keck Medicine of USC provide expertise and treatment across a wide variety of esophageal and digestive issues. Our surgeons treat esophageal cancer, or cancer of the tube that runs from the throat to the stomach, including squamous cell carcinoma and adenocarcinoma.

We also treat swallowing disorders and help patients manage such conditions as GERD and Barrett’s esophagus. If untreated, these conditions can lead to esophageal cancer.

Keck Medicine of USC also offers expert surgical services for the treatment of gastroparesis, a stomach disorder in which delayed gastric emptying causes discomfort, nausea and vomiting. We offer effective surgical treatments for patients who have been diagnosed with this condition, using minimally invasive, laparoscopic approaches whenever possible.
